First Responders of the Triad, Inc. (FROT) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2019 with a singular mission – to honor, support, and uplift the brave police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and other emergency personnel who protect the North Carolina Triad region and beyond.

Through our flagship event – the First Responders of the Triad Annual Golf Tournament – we unite the community in a day of purpose, gratitude, and giving.

Our Mission

At the heart of our work is a deep commitment to:

  • Raising critical funds for first responder organizations
  • Supporting disaster-impacted communities in North Carolina, including areas recovering from Hurricane Helene
  • Fostering community engagement and appreciation for our everyday heroes

Each year, we gather at Greensboro National Golf Club in Summerfield, NC to celebrate our first responders and raise vital funds for those who serve selflessly on the front lines.

Making a Measurable Difference

Since our founding:

  • We’ve raised over $433,998 through community-driven efforts
  • In 2024 alone, with the support of partners like Byron Donnelly Development, Greensboro National Golf Club, and Herbert B. Parks, we contributed $133,998 to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (T2T)
  • Our 7th annual tournament returns on October 3, 2025, with an ambitious goal to raise $200,000

Every dollar goes toward supporting those who put their lives at risk to keep us safe — whether through direct aid, mental health resources, disaster relief, or family support initiatives.

Why Golf?

We believe in using the game of golf not just for sport, but as a platform for healing, camaraderie, and fundraising. The tournament fosters meaningful connections, raises awareness, and offers a moment of reflection and gratitude for those who serve under the most challenging circumstances.
