Each year, Heroes Behind the Badge celebrates the extraordinary bravery and dedication of police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics in the Triad region (Guilford, Forsyth, and surrounding counties). This annual awards gala highlights life-saving actions, selfless service, and deep community impact.
What the Event Features
Storytelling and Awards Night
This in-person gala brings together local first responders for a night of heartfelt testimonials, community recognition, and formal awards presentations. Similar to the “Public Safety Valor Awards” events held in Fayetteville, NC — honoring over 50 first responders across multiple categories like “Valor,” “Life-Saving,” and “Citizen Award” — our Heroes Behind the Badge night is equally meaningful and impactful.
Community and Civic Participation
Attendees include local elected officials, business sponsors, and civic leaders—often including the Chamber of Commerce, county sheriffs, fire chiefs, and EMS directors. In Eastern NC, events like “Honor Our Firsts Gala” in Goldsboro draw nearly 700 community members and raise significant funds for first responder families.
